SAM'S WELL

About Sam's well AKA Kulu Asam

The genesis of this initiative stems from Sam's establishment of a year-long humanitarian course aimed at tackling Uganda's severe water crisis. Through his proactive endeavors, he efficiently secured the essential resources to implement the initial two deep well systems. Located in the Owaja community within Omoro District, these wells currently serve 250 people, a majority of whom have faced challenges due to the noddying syndrome. Before the installation of these wells, community members had to undertake a 3-kilometer trek, spending approximately 1 hour each day to reach and retrieve water from the nearest source. This included the time required for both the journey to and from the water source as well as the actual collection, making it unlikely for them to return with a full supply of water in the jerrycan in just 1 hour.
