Vicky's Well
About Vicky's Well
Vicky, a 25-year-old affected by Nodding Syndrome, resides with her mother in a close-knit village among numerous families. Her condition has led to stunted growth and immobility, necessitating constant care. Previously, the closest water source available was a hand-dug well shared with animals. Unfortunately, this water was stagnant, riddled with bugs floating on the surface, compelling Vicky's mother to endure an hour-long trek each way to access the nearest deep well.
This newly established well, referred to as "Vicky’s well," has brought immense relief not only to her but also to the entire village. The well serves 74 households, totaling around 370 individuals, significantly easing the burden of daily water collection and providing clean and safe water within closer reach.
